The first tip is to get there early as you can easily spend the whole day there with all the numerous activities and things to see. At the farm park entrance, you will be given a handy map that highlights all the facilities and activities in place. Make sure to buy a bag of food for the goats which you can purchase for £1.

Highlights of Bocketts farm

What makes Bocketts Farm one of the most fun days out in Surrey is the fact that there are so many interesting activities for the kids no matter what the weather 🙂 Below are some of the highlights:

Visiting the Animals

We started our visit with the ‘Little Hoppington’ small animal village; here you can encounter and learn about rabbits, guinea pigs and hens. It is interactive and there is staff at hand to answer any curious questions you may have.

Advice – There are many stations for washing hands so make sure you wash your hands every time you interact with the animals.

After, you can make your way to see the hungry milking goats, who will happily feed on your little bag of seeds (which you can purchase for £1 at the entrance). It does get crowded, so if you don’t get a chance to feed them now, don’t worry; there are plenty more opportunities in the farm stables. Next to the goats, you will also encounter the lovely horses, which are quite friendly; they are probably used to seeing so many excited faces.

Take some time to visit the Animal Discovery Barn where you will find some goats, pigs, sheep, cows and the cutest Alpacas. This is also an area where you can feed the animals and read some interesting facts about them.

There is also a Farm Park Walk where you can see the animals grazing out on the fields. You can also walk to the top for some beautiful views of the Surrey Hills; a place known for its outstanding natural beauty.

We missed the pig race but that is also a very popular event so we will have to go back and see that 🙂

Tractor Rides

For an extra £1.50 per person, you can enjoy a 15-minute fun tractor ride around the farm with an explanation of how Bocketts farm works. The views of the Surrey Hills are stunning.

Play and Explore

Bocketts Farm is really an adventure paradise for children of all ages with indoor and outdoor play areas. There is also a Bocketts farm indoor soft play area which is really popular; at the time we had to book a time slot for entry.

There are also many outdoor activities to explore including jumping pillows; one for over 5’s and the other for younger kids, trampolines and go-karting on the tracks.

You also have numerous playgrounds for kids to enjoy including a lovely wooden treehouse with climbing nets, slides and tunnels.

There is also an outdoor go-karting track and an indoor young drivers zone for children below 5.

Restoration Area

There are plenty of places to picnic if you want to bring your own picnic food or you can also eat at the Cow Shed Coffee Shop which is located in the main indoor area. There are plenty of cold and hot food options to try. You can buy a children’s picnic box for £5.50 which includes a sandwich of your choice, juice, crisps, a chocolate bar and fruit.

For a quick snack, you also have the Woodshed shack which serves hot and cold drinks, ice cream and snacks.

If you feel like an afternoon tea or want a full hot menu lunch then try out the Old Barn Tearooms which is situated near the main entrance, they are open between 10 am – 4.30 pm. There are many homemade food options to choose from including; toasted sandwiches, paninis, burgers, jacket potatoes, sausage & chips, cakes, scones and picnic boxes. There are also gluten-free and vegan options. You can also eat here without having tickets to the farm.

Extra Activities for Children

Different activities are happening throughout the day; you can check these on the ‘what’s on board’ in the main barn.

Definitely don’t miss a visit to the Kitchen Gardens, where you can see all the homegrown herbs, fruits and vegetables. They also sell some jams and chutneys in the gift shop.

During our visit, there was a craft tent set up by the netted trampolines at the back of the field. The kids especially loved making their badges and decorating their paper plates.

When we visited the Pony Rides were still closed.

Throughout the year there are different theme events including Bocketts Farm Christmas and Bocketts farm Halloween; book your tickets early as these are quite popular events. You can even book your Bocketts farm party! If you want to enjoy a UK farm day out; we would definitely recommend a visit.

  1. Great article! Bocketts farm seems to be a lovely place and reminds me of the place I grew up in. We also had a tractor back then (which we would often take out for a spin) as well as lots of animals, including rabbits, a donkey, and curious hungry goats 🙂 I will definitely visit this farm on my next trip to Surrey.
