As Halloween approaches, it’s time to embrace the spooky spirit! This festive season lets us dress up in creative costumes, transform our homes with eerie decorations, carve pumpkins, and enjoy some good-natured scares. Who says Halloween is just for kids? It’s a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to have fun together.

Surrey offers a plethora of Halloween activities to keep everyone entertained during the October half-term. To help you plan your spooky adventures, here is a round-up of the best Halloween events in Surrey for 2024. Many of these events are ticketed and tend to sell out quickly, so be sure to check their websites regularly for ticket releases and updates. While events may change, I will do my best to keep this guide current.

1. Bocketts Farm – Wizards and Witches Week Halloween Event in Surrey

Cost: Adult £14, Child 3-17 £15.50, Under 2 Free

Enjoy a spooky day at Bocketts Farm. They have some awesome Halloween events for kids, including the spooktacularly fun trail, pumpkin village, tractor rides, indoor and outdoor play areas, slime shows, meeting the creepy crawlies in Tom’s talking reptile roadshow and much more. Book early on their website to avoid disappointment. This is definitely one of the Halloween events your kids will love.

2. Priory Farm Estate – Halloween Discovery Trail and Pumpkin Patch Tractor Ride

Halloween is back for 2024 at the Priory family farm. We absolutely loved their amazing Halloween discovery trail full of adventure, from spooky treehouses and labyrinths to climbing frames and tunnels. After your spooky adventure, hop on their spooky tractor ride, which takes you to their pumpkin patch where you can pick out your own pumpkin. Don’t forget to finish your trip with a pumpkin latte and toasted marshmallows by the fire pit. The perfect Halloween day out for kids

3. Secretts Farm – Pumpkin Week Surrey Halloween Event

Dates: 22nd – 29th October during Half Term

Take a spooky walk and select and pick up your own pumpkin. Feeling peckish, then why not try their pumpkin-themed menu, which includes Pumpkin Soup, Pumpkin Curry and spiced Pumpkin cake. Also, don’t forget to dress to impress by entering their daily Halloween costume competition.

4. Hampton Court Palace – Ghostly stories and tour

Ready for some haunted action and stories? Visit Hampton Court Palace, known to be one of the most haunted Palaces. Discover haunted stories with a self-guided tour. There is even an after-dark Halloween experience for the brave ones on the week-end.

5. Oatlands Park Hotel – Halloween Afternoon Tea

Dates: 21st – 29th October

Cost: Adult £32.95

Enjoy a Halloween-themed afternoon tea treat including finger sandwiches, scones with jam and clotted cream and Halloween-themed cakes. Perfect family treat and get dressed up for the occasion.

6. Chessington World of Adventures for the best theme park halloween events in Surrey

Chessington holds some awesome Halloween theme events; from the wild witches at the adventure point to the spirits at the forbidden kingdom. Don’t miss their spectacular spooky show ‘The legend of the wild witches show’, Trick or Treat live show and fire and effects show. There are also some fun shows for the little ones.

7. The Ghost Tour of Guildford – Spooky Halloween Tour

Dates: From Good Friday to End of November, every Friday

Cost: £10 Adults and £5 under 16s

The best way to spend a spooky evening; ghost tour of course! Tour is for 1hr 45m, suitable for over 8 years old and takes you around Guildford High Street, Castle grounds, Holy Trinity Church as well as Guildford’s most haunted building; The Kings Head pub.

8. Hatchlands Park – Outdoor Halloween Event

Address: Hatchlands Park, Guildford, GU4 7RT

Dates: 28th October

Cost: Free

Hatchlands Park a stunning National Trust property will be hosting a charity event to raise money for Cherry Trees; a charity that helps children with disabilities who respite care. The event will be held outdoors, there will be Halloween activities, stalls, pumpkin carving kits for sale. Come dressed in your Halloween costume. All money raised will support the charity.

9. RHS Wisley – Gardening Spooktacular

Address: Wisley Ln, Wisley, Woking GU23 6QB

Dates: 22nd and 30th October

Enjoy a Halloween gardening show as a family and win prizes during this half-term Halloween event in Surrey. Discover the most deadliest plants and creepy crawlies.

10. Godstone Farm Halloween Family Event

Address: Tilburstow Hill Road, Godstone, RH9 8LX

Dates: 23rd -31st October

They have many Halloween activities during the half-term, including meeting Griswalda the witch, pumpkin carving and their clever detective crime event. On the 28th and 29th of October, there is a low-bang fireworks display perfect for little kids. You can book a Halloween and fireworks bundle ticket.

11. Hobbledown – Halloween event

Address: Horton Lane, Horton, KT19 8PT

Dates: 22nd October – 30th October

Enjoy half-term activities at Hobbledown including Potion Commotion from Tipp the Inventor, a 15-minute story feature with The Skibblers and how about a bug brunch!!

12. Pumpkin Patch Picking, Best places in Surrey to pick your own Pumpkin
